Despite the dry weather, we all can still take pride in our living areas and maintain a nice looking yard (even if the grass might be a bit browner than last year). Who do you think has the best yard in the neighborhood? Please let us know with your vote. Your vote for the best yard may be submitted with a comment containing the address of the best yard on our Facebook group page, here on the HOA website blog or by sending an email to the Board. The resident with the most votes will receive a $75 gift card. Second place prize is a $50 gift card. Voting ends on Labor Day, Monday, September 7 and winners will be announced in mid-September. Board members and ACC members are not eligible to win this contest but may vote like everyone else.

The SE Thurston Fire Authority and local law enforcement are strongly discouraging the use of fireworks this year. Likewise, because of the extreme dry conditions in our community, the HOA Board is also strongly discouraging the use of fireworks, particularly airborne fireworks, in our neighborhood due to the increased risk of grass fires, property damage and personal injury.
While the use of fireworks on private property or public streets is not banned by local government, we are prohibiting their use in our common areas (the community park and retention fields). We are also recommending that your front and back yards be well watered and kept moist to help prevent the spread of fires. Please remember to clean up your fireworks and be respectful of your neighbors property. Have a safe and Happy 4th of July! |
