There are two good sources for looking at crime incidents in the vicinity of our neighborhood. One is our weekly local newpaper Nisqually Valley News print edition which is published on Thursdays and usually arrives in the mail on Fridays.

During the 7 days since launching on October 11, 2011, the HOA website averaged 118 page views and 91 unique visitors per day. THANK YOU for checking in!
We had a very good Annual Meeting today! A quorum was achieved in a timely manner, new Board of Directors elected, budget unanimously ratified, great Q&A session and some nice door prizes awarded. A big THANK YOU goes out to all the concerned homeowners who attended or provided their proxy. Minutes will be posted on the website once they are reviewed, edited and approved by the Board, probably sometime in early November.
Did you know that Nisqually Estates has one of the lowest annual assessments (dues) for a homeowner's association in the Yelm area? Our 2012 annual dues are set at just $145.25 whereas Nisqually Pines dues are $922, Yelm Terra dues are $420 and Clearwood dues are $460, just to name a few.
Thanks for the positive feedback! We've heard by email and Facebook from several people that they like the new website. There's been over 350 pageviews and over 220 unique visitors in the first 48 hours since we've launched the improved homeowner's website.
We are very interested in hearing your ideas on how we can improve the neighborhood and communication with homeowners and residents. Please continue to let the Board know what you think, not only about the website but also about any issue in the neighborhood. This is just a quick message to bring you up to date regarding the upcoming Annual Membership meeting on Saturday, October 15th at the Rosemont Retirement Center. Sign-in and proxy collection for the meeting will begin at 9:30 am and the meeting will start once a quorum is achieved. Thank you to all the homeowners who have stated their intent to attend or who have already provided their proxies. From the looks of the response so far, there should not be a problem reaching a quorum but we want to be sure your time is not wasted. Also just to reiterate for anyone who might have missed it, there will be, as stated on the mailed meeting notice and agenda, the 2012 budget presented for all who are interested.
This year there will also be some significant door prizes to be given away the conclusion of the meeting. We've had great support from local businesses and people in the community who have donated some nice items as door prizes. Just to name a couple for example, the Yelm Food Coop is donating a Thanksgiving dinner for four. Simply Organic Café is donating several vouchers for their wonderful food and desserts. The bottom line is we want you to come, participate and stay informed! There is good news on several other fronts: (1) We have re-bid and renegotiated our landscaping contract for an annual savings of over $350 to the HOA beginning this month. Details to be provided at the meeting; (2) We have started a group page on Facebook. If you are interested in joining, just search for “Nisqually Meadows” on your Facebook and request to join the group; and (3) Mailing address updates are rolling in and we also now have over 85 valid email addresses on our contact list. Thank you to all who are providing updates and who want to stay informed! We have also scoured through the physical records of the HOA and through the old website. We will scan and post whatever official documents we can salvage - those that are not missing or corrupted. Thank you for your interest in what’s going on with the HOA. We look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting! |
